You’re always on the lookout for the right tool to help you get the job done. When it comes to battery-powered, handheld strapping tools, you want something that’s smart, strong and safe.

An ideal tool should be efficient and easy to use, durable and help keep you or your workers safe on the job.

FROMM’s newest S-Series tools incorporate the latest technology to meet these needs and more. Here are some tips and tricks to get the most out of using the S-Series tool.

Switch Between Modes to Handle Different Strapping Jobs

The S-Series tools allow you to tackle different strapping jobs easily and efficiently with one handheld tool. This three-in-one application allows operators to switch between modes with the touch of a button. Choose from manual, semi-automatic, and automatic with just a tap on the colour touchscreen.

This allows for workers to easily move back and forth between different types of strapping jobs. Better yet, it’s easy to switch the tool and make sure it’s always on the right setting.

Monitor and Lock in Settings for More Efficiency

The S-series tool allows you to lock your settings into place. If you have plenty of pallets to strap or you know you’ll be using the same settings for multiple jobs, you have the option to enter a PIN code and lock the settings so they are not inadvertently changed.

This means you don’t need to worry about adjusting and readjusting the settings after every pallet or when you happen to take a break. An accidental bump of the screen won’t upset your progress. Less time spent playing with the settings means more time for strapping.

Use Advanced Settings for More Precision with Each Job

Applications come in all shapes and sizes, so strapping them requires different approaches. The S-Series tool has both fixed speed tensioning, perfect for fast-paced applications, and variable speed tensioning, which is ideal for more intricate jobs.

These advanced settings can help you complete strapping jobs the right way. With more control, you’ll make fewer mistakes and you won’t need to redo the job because it’s been done the right way the first time.

Stay Safe with the Colour Touchscreen

Touchscreens make it easier to use handheld strapping tools, but the lack of sensitivity of some screens isn’t a good fit for the warehouse or the plant. Your operators may need to take off their gloves to operate the screen, which could expose them to risks.

The S-Series tools’ colour touchscreen is both tough and durable while still sensitive enough that your team can use it with their gloves on. Creating a strapping profile has never been safer.

Select Straps from a Database for Easy Setup

Each S-Series tool comes programmed with 10 standard strap configurations. Your operators simply select the strap type and set the mode, which makes switching between strapping types quick and easy. There’s no need to guess or manually program in the settings as you switch between different polyester straps.

Need a custom setting? That’s no problem, the tool learns from using it and with the touch of a button the current tension and welding settings can be saved as a custom database entry. It will be there for the next time you need it for a similar application.

Automatically Monitor Maintenance for Long Life

The S-Series tools also work with your team to monitor maintenance. The tool will advise the operator when it’s time for service. This feature can help you keep your S-Series tools in great working condition even longer.

If you’re in the market for new strapping tools, it’s time to consider going a step beyond. The S-Series tools do more to help your team work smarter, stronger, safer, and more efficiently than ever before.
